Am I the only one curious to know how ICP fans will mix in with the mosh pits that are bound to happen at the Louder than Life festival coming to Louisville, KY, in the fall? Yes, I know people are still thinking about Spring Break and summer vacations, while my mind is already planning for Halloween, but it's never too early to start planning for what is sure to be another awesome music festival, jam-packed with familiar names, some of which have never performed together, making it interesting to say the least. Let's list some bands that are expected to perform alongside ICP at this festival: Rob Zombie, Deftones, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, Bring me the Horizon, Sleep Token, Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle, Down, Evanescence, Cypress Hill, Breaking Benjamin and just too many others to name all at once.

The one that sticks out to me is Acid Bath. Those NOLA favorites have been in hiding since the death of their bass player and have just recently come back to life, which makes their appearance at this festival one that is surely not to be missed. They took lots of time off in 1997 after Audie Pitre's death, and I, for one, am of the opinion that his ghost still haunts New Orleans and looks after his loved ones after the experience with his brother and another musician playing "Venus Blue" in my former New Orleans apartment, which is too much to get into at this point, but is memorable to say the least about ghosts.

There's so many memories from so many of the bands that will be playing this festival, which makes it a ripe place for making even more memories. So many of the bands I have interviewed over the years will be there, and seeing the names makes me think back to times with them. Even when I was living in Baltimore, was held up at gunpoint and talked my way out of getting shot, Slayer's press agent said Kerry King gave me props for being able to get away from a situation like that back in the day.

Though I had been involved in the music scene for many years before Rob Zombie pulled me on stage at Ozzfest in Detroit, which ended with me and my recently deceased friend joining the tour in 2002, it was certainly a starting point for touring experience. I've since covered Rob Zombie a number of times, and I can only be more and more impressed by his activities in the film industry as well. Anyone who has not had the opportunity to catch his show will definitely want to see him at Louder than Life.

Now, Cannibal Corpse nearly put me out of music. When they played with Power Trip, the mosh was so bad that my friend and I both got taken out with injuries that lasted more than a year! All I can say is be careful in the pit when these guys take the stage, as it can be more dangerous than other bands.

Cavalera is one that is always fun to see. You never know what instruments they might break out. They have been known to bring on some instruments that you don't see most bands play, and there's a musical talent within the family that is understated in my eyes, but known to people in the business.
