Before a race, anything is possible. Any fathomable outcome that you can imagine is entirely possible. It’s like before you open Schrodinger’s Cat’s box, as anything is possible until you open the box - or until you start the race.

For some, racing is generational, and throughout those generations, feuds happen. Some racers have a long history of wrecking each other. It’s always hard to prove if a wreck is done on purpose or by accident, as sometimes, car parts fail at top speeds, causing a wheel to race past a car.

At Auburndale, John’s youngest son Thomas raced recently, and to help gear up for the race, even his wife helped sanding the car, pouring gas at the track and other crew duties, making it truly a family affair with his young daughters toddling around to help.
