get me wrong. There’s plenty of great teams out there. Only the top of each of
the directions get to compete, while other teams have players flocking the
airports to get on the oversized metal birds.

While
everyone wants to think they will be the next big star, the reality is that not

Many of these guys feel as if baseball is the end goal, blinders on, not even
considering other options of possible careers, feeling as if you have to
convince yourself that you are going to make it as a way to not get
discouraged.

not let you forget what happened for a while.

There’s so many people behind the scenes supporting these guys, there’s really no telling. From the trainers to the dietary staff, there’s a multitude of people trying to ease the burden of these players being away from friends and family, adopting sons and brothers from other mothers, trying to let them know that people care about their careers, injuries and life drama. The biggest supporters might be people in the kitchen or house keeping, people that others would not expect, someone that flashes a friendly smile, even if they don’t speak the same language.

One player explained that while baseball is a team sport, he cannot focus on if his teammate drops a ball, misses a swing, or are not playing at their best, so long as he is playing at his best, as it is all about advancing their careers at the end of the day.
