When you’re celebrating Christmas in Florida, you have to make your own winter wonderland. Luckily, there are plenty of options to choose from to create your own winterscape that’s just as good as the real thing. From fake ice snowing down at people at ICE! at Gaylord Palms to the multitude of decorations around the areas at Disney, there’s plenty of places to stop for selfies along the way.

the ceiling, making you gasp that they don’t fall to certain death, and you
have a family outing that everyone will enjoy.
The cirque performers are worth the trip alone, as is the Grinch Who
Stole Christmas ice sculptures and ice hill slide, but the two combined together,
with an additional sledding hill, snowball toss and snow falling from the sky,
and this makes for a winter wonderland that will not soon be forgotten, with a
laser light show that’s like the cherry on top.

This is a great photo excursion, with lots of awesome places
to eat along the way. Time your trip out
with various hotel events, you might be lucky enough to stumble upon a campfire
to roast marshmallows. That’s about the
best budget Disney experience I can suggest, as you can skyline into Disney
Caribbean, shuttle to Disney Springs, then go eat at Rainforest Café or the
multitude of other places that they have there, taking in a show at House of
Blues, or rolling a bowling game at Splitsville.

Which hotel has the best decorations? It really depends on what you’re into, as my
friend appreciated the Fort Wilderness natural environment, the Beach Club
being more of my mom’s style, but I was awestruck by the Art of Animation’s
tree and chandelier of various Disney character sketches. There’s such variety, with different movie
themes at each of the hotels, that it’s easy to get lost in the environment of
merely taking in all the sights, sounds, and extra touches that Disney put into
their stays.

From ginormous Christmas trees that seemed bigger than
mountains, to gingerbread displays that you could hardly believe were edible,
the various chocolate displays were very similar. They looked so lifelike, you couldn’t believe
that everything could be devoured in a moment’s notice. I, for one, would be more than willing to
step up as a taste tester for some of these edible Disney displays by the way.

As it was, we went to the Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney
Springs, where the desserts look too good to touch. You almost feel bad destroying the tiny works
of art to devour them, but once you get a taste, any guilt gets quickly cast aside
in favor of the delicious flavors. The Mickey
Mousse is not too sweet, just sweet enough to make you want to keep going back
for another spoonful, one more tiny taste…

poutine being one twist of the Canadian traditional dish that was delightfully
delectable to share with a friend.

fire along the water. Only thing better
than being on the water, enjoying the reflections of all the other destinations
at Disney Springs, is getting lost inside of the Rainforest Café, seeing all
the various sea creatures in the aquariums.
How many different animals can you spot hiding in the luscious greenery
at the Rainforest Café?

allows for some cute backdrops for Christmas cards, then look no further than
the Disney destinations. Whether you want
to pose with an edible merry-go-round with horses inspired by the various
Disney princesses, or you want a tree that is so nautical it has sailboats
hanging off of it, there’s a spot to pose for a selfie that is sure to get lots
of likes. You don’t have to necessarily
travel up north to the snow to experience the winter wonderlands that were made
for your enjoyment here in Florida, so no need to bundle up; you can wear
sandals here.
