Exactly 23 years ago today, I was told I that I would never walk again or have children. While I can stand, walk and do many things the doctors said I would never be able to do, I have my fur babies at home. Don't go cliff diving like I did.

My latest adventure in sports confirms that. While I cannot share the details of what I have been doing, who I have been working with or even what sport, let me just say that working with professional athletes up close on a personal level gives you a different perspective when cheering as a fan. You feel their joys and agonies, get sad when they get hurt, want to make them smile when they frown.

When I was competing in mixed martial arts, I learned the hard way to never underestimate an opponent. I remember laughing, seeing this tiny girl as my opponent, as she did not even come up to my chest, but straight out the gate, she leapt up and scored with a headshot, which I was not expecting, given her height.
